Use Vita As Ps4 Controller
A lot of upcoming PS4 buyers are very excited about the prospect of remote play streaming, which will allow them to play their PS4 games instantly on the PS Vita. Sony has promised that this feature will be available almost as a ‘mandatory’ requirement for developers, but now we have a little clarification on how the PS Vita system can be used as a secondary PS4 control input.
If you thought that you would be able to use the PS Vita as a second PS4 controller out of the box, Sony has unfortunately confirmed that this won’t be the case. While it may seem like a disappointment, it could also be deemed as expected on the other hand, with the PS4 Dual Shock4 obviously supporting a lot more physical buttons and features than the PS Vita control scheme.
Dude, go to gamestop and use the demo ps vita. There's TONS of great games on the vita. They have games of all genres on there. So to say it has no games is 100% ignorant. I will welcome you with a disagree and -1 for trolling. On topic, to be disrespectful when I play my friends on the ps4. I don't play with the DS4 I play with the vita. You need to refresh the config.txt by rebooting or through VitaShell. Using it for the first time (pairing the controller): Go to Settings - Devices - Bluetooth Devices Press SHARE+PS on the DS4 for about 3-4 seconds, until the lightbar blinks very quickly. The first time you use a controller or when you want to use the controller on another system, you must perform device registration (pairing). Connect your system and the controller with a USB cable when your system is turned on, and then press the PS button. Yes you can, you sync your controller to it like any PS4 and then you can use it wired or wirelessly. You will need to re-sync it every time you switch between your Vita TV and PS4 so keep that in. The Vita has four fewer buttons than the PS4's DualShock 4 controller. It lacks the L1/R1 shoulder buttons and the L3/R3 thumbstick buttons. It sounds great in theory—use your Vita to stream.
With this in mind, Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed that using the PS Vita as a PS4 controller will only be available if a developer specifically puts in the extra work on a title in order to make the PS Vita compatible. So while it ‘wont just work’, you could also expect some developers to make this happen anyway – so it’s not all bad.
While this aspect has been clarified by Sony, don’t forget that this doesn’t affect the remote play streaming side of things. When using this feature, you will obviously be using the PS Vita to play your PS4 games. Having said that, it does pose the interesting debate on whether all PS4 games will ‘mandatory’ feature remote play as Sony initially said.
@InsideEddie Hey BRO! In a normal sense, no. Unless a game is specifically programmed to allow such use of PS Vita.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens, but obviously you’ll be able to play the likes of Killzone Shadow Fall using your PS Vita when in remote play mode. What we don’t want to see is Sony backtracking on remote play and having a minimal amount of supported games again. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.

Registering (pairing) a device
The first time you use a controller or when you want to use the controller on another system, you must perform device registration (pairing). Connect your system and the controller with a USB cable when your system is turned on, and then press the PS button.
- If you want to use multiple controllers, perform device registration separately for each controller.
- To use a controller with another device after you register the controller to your system, connect the controller to the other device using a compatible USB cable.
Recharging
When you connect your system and the controller with a USB cable, the controller's battery charges. Your system must be turned on or in standby mode. You can verify the charge level of the battery in the quick menu that appears when you press and hold the PS button.
- Charge the controller in an environment where the ambient temperature is between 10 °C and 30 °C (50 °F and 86 °F). You might not be able to efficiently charge the controller in other environments.
- Even when not using the controller for a prolonged period of time, completely charge it once a year to keep it functioning normally.
- Battery life varies depending on how you use the controller and the environment in which the controller is used and stored.
